Your average chicken is loaded with e coli, on it, in it, all around it. Back around 2006 during some studies on granite counter tops we needed a source of e coli. Off to Walmart for a frozen chicken. Let it thaw in the fridge for a day and use the juice. Full haz mat type attire while working, tyvek coveralls, face shield, booties, gloves, mask, but somehow I managed to get two honking huge boils from the e coli. One on the top of my head, another right in the middle of my back where I couldn't even reach. Horribly painful, the size of a grape.

I wouldn't worry about e coli in chicken feed as they are ingesting e coli constantly, their guts take care of it. Chickens are always walking a razor thin edge with disease constantly present but their immune system is keeping things in check. Which is why stress, even change in their routines, can trigger an outbreak and wipe out flocks in days.
