I thought at first he was deadly but did a little research and supposedly they don't eat chickens and kill other snakes! So he is definitely living!
Oh they're so so tiny they couldn't even do ANYTHING to a chicken at all. They're even tiny at full size. They are technically venomous but not dangerously so BECAUSE:

1. They like, never bite. I'm not even sure they could bite a human. That's a lot to get a tiny mouth around.
2. Their venom is not potent at our level. If you ever somehow get some ringneck venom the spot will be red and a bit itchy like a non-dangerous spider bite but then that's it.
3. They're rear-fanged snakes, which means they are not in the position to deliver a large amount of venom with just a quick strike. They have to REALLY get their mouth around something (usually a small insect or such) to even inject any venom at all.

So yeah, literally no reason at all to harm these guys. On the contrary, they should have our admiration for their beauty and good service to the ecosystem.
