WELCOME TO MY LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN-kick your shoes off, drink some iced tea, RELAX!

My family is very negative in all conversations and attitudes. I realized this 25+ yrs ago and swore I would not be that way. Everyday I find something beautiful, the sky, a bird, baby calf eating breakfast, a flower-or just a green blade of grass. I stay positive.
Death is a part of life. I do not know of anyone that has gotten out of this world alive. I miss my son everyday, but I think of all the good times we had.

yes that anniversary is coming up.
Enjoy your day-every day IS a gift.
Stay cool and drink plenty of iced tea. 1 gallon in fridge, so I need to make more :)
I would imagine it haunts you sometimes. :hugs This part of your heart will never lose these scars from your loss, but by finding love and joy in other areas of your life, you can make the other part of our heart swell enough that it comforts the sad side. :hugs

Good afternoon! Have a glass of iced tea and rest, relax awhile. Got 2 25 ft soaker hoses for front flower beds. Their awesome!! I can hook hose up and water entire bed in 15 min. I'm in heaven. This has simplified my watering! Leave soaker in bed, hook up to hose, turn water on. Go sit on porch and drink some tea.
3 eggs a day for last 4 days. 2 wild child's Not laying, and I think shadow the black Australorp not laying yet.
This morning, first time, all 7 prowling in 1 group. It didn't last long, wild child's went their own way after about 45 minutes of togetherness.
Baby steps
Enjoy your day and stay cool.

Morning! Coffee time. Sitting under the live oak enjoying this beautiful day. I am hearing 3 different groups of owls this morning. 1 behind me (towards the road), another group off to the left, and another group in front of me, back in the woods. Gonna go check trap for raccoon (he s smarter than the average) as soon as it gets light enuff to see. Randy just started crowing, so the girls are up-no one can sleep thru cockadoodle DOOOO!
Stay cool and drink plenty of tea.

Good morning!

Yep coffee is on the brew and the day is dawning! I hear lots of Nightjars skimming the skies for bugs, some crickets too.

Enjoy your day, all the crowing, and stay cool!

No coon, which might be a good thing.
Several days ago, I noticed stuff moved in barn and digging around edge of run.
I fixed, repaired, reinforced. Couldn't find live trap, so after girls in coop Wednesday night, I mixed gopher poison and chicken feed and left in piepan near run.
Thursday a.m. pie pan licked clean, no digging round pen, nothing but bait gone. Found live trap, I hate when something is not where it's supposed to be.
Thursday nite baited trap with last can if Tom's cat food, placed next to run where digging was seen , thought I tied trap down good-Friday a.m. sighsssss......
Trap moved 15 feet behind run, not tripped and bait (can cat food half opened) gone.
I CANNOT EVEN FIND THE CAN.
So, yesterday, we worked on trap, made trigger pan more sensitive. No tuna, salmon, sardines, cat food or marshmallows to be found for bait, (all on grocery list for today)we used chicken feed.
This morning, nothing, moved dug or eaten-maybe poison worked. Go.a use cat food again tonite.
Chores for the day:
Cook
Make 3 pitchers tea
Wash clothes and hang on clothesline (washing now)
Trash to dump
Grocery shop at dollar General (got the coupon for $5 off if you spend $25) I do so $25 stuff for $20
Laters
Gotta go load car for dump and ice chest for milk groceries.
Stay cool, enjoy this beautiful day, Drink plenty of tea.

Nightjars are mostly nocturnal birds although I have seen them very early evening and late morning. As they flutter through the skies, the dive through bug swarms and they produce a loud rushing sound.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nig...ium-sized nocturnal, legs and very short bills.

I have heard their numbers have dropped extensively in the east and northeast.
Never seen or heard of these. Interesting, I'll start looking, reading.
Thanks! There are a lot more critters around than we realize or think about.
