I wish I had more pips.... I have to chicks that hatched two days ago... I'm on day 22 and my remaining 7 eggs aren't doing anything... and I fear they may never do anything

I still only have the one and am going to give the other four eggs until tomorrow before I toss them. If my son wants to do an egg-topsy he can, but I want no parts of it. I was so hoping I'd get at least ONE more chick
Sorry quiltnchic. I know what you mean, I candled two 'quitters' yesterday and they were obviously not full of living chick, so I sent my kids outside to dispose of them. They broke them open and saw one had never developed and the other had a chick that probably stopped around day 15-16.
I have four left in the 'bator right now, their 5 compadres hatched last night. I'm giving them 24 more hours to pip, and if nothing then I'll candle and go from there. My hatch status on these eggs were good for the local eggs, and almost exactly 30% for all the ones I had shipped.
Started > hatched
6 local RIR eggs > hatched 5 healthy chicks
17 shipped Delaware eggs > hatched 6 chicks
6 shipped Welsummer eggs > hatched 2 chicks
10 shipped Buff Brahma eggs > hatched 3 chicks but one has a neck problem, I don't think he'll make it.
So 5/6 of the local eggs and 11/33 shipped eggs hatched.
I'm glad I had a good hatch from the local eggs, that makes me feel like the low hatch on the others was more likely shipping issues than my incubator inexperience. The sixth local egg never developed at all.

OMG, they're ADORABLE!! I can't wait to get moved and order some Silkie eggs! I got rid of 2 of my remaining 4 eggs today, but still have the last 2 in the 'bator. One of the 2 that I got rid of had stopped developing really early and the other must have died around day 16 or 17
My Coturnix eggs are pipping now and, so far, I have about 4 pips. I'm probably going to miss the hatch, though, because I have to go out to the new house to spend the night because there's a guy coming in the morning to fix the heat pump.
Ah well, maybe I'll come home to chicks in the morning
sorry about your lonely chick!!! I don't think the rest of mine will hatch either, but I'm giving them another day or two....
oh, and I tried cleaning my baby off TWO times, and she's still crusty.... I don't know what else to do.... most of it's on her back and head, and it's hard to clean a little chickens head
