I opened my remaining 7 eggs today... 1 never developed, the other 6 had fully formed baby chicks who died in the shell... I don't know why..

I'm tossing my remaining 2 eggs today; got rid of the others yesterday. However, I do have Coturnix hatched and hatching (7 hatched, 1 hatching and 4 more to go)

I think I much prefer hatching Coturnix over chickens any day; they came on their "due date" and were just much easier to maintain than the chick eggs (I just stuck my hand in and rolled the eggs around 3x a day).

Hatched 3/3 yesterday... YAY!!! They were the first set of abandoned broody eggs, next set of three due on the weekend.

Have two marans eggs due Fri.

And I went out to check the eggs under the broody turkeys, one pipped early and died and the other appears near ready to hatch - I pulled it and gave them chicken eggs. Tonight I'm giving them the just hatched chicks to take care of and stop this whole failed broody thing. Last thing I need is two broody turkey hens fighting over one poult. He can come in, they can go out.

Here's hoping the lone poult hatches...

OMG DONT TOSS EGGS I was about to today i still have one chick absorbing yolk he looks iffy. Any way i left eggs in there around him to keep him warm i went to ck on him and OMFG one has a pip and is loudly chirping. I mean yall the chances of this is like 000000000000000000000000000 i mean i have had the door open to hand feed this guy water since he has been in there two days with the bottom of his shell on. Temp went insane yesterday to 106 I just cant believe this. On a sader note we had a fisher get in and kill 8 polish chicks 3 muscovys it was bad looked like mass slaughter in the barn yard. So this little chick hatching helps me feel a tiny bit better.

it makes me sad though that they got so close and then just never hatched... I'm sure it's my fault... this was my first time incubating, I prolly screwed something up

LUx dont feel bad all three of my ducks sitting on eggs they did not have one baby live. So i guess even the animals have a hard time.
