What are you canning now?

I cut mine in half and cook face down in the oven (in some water) until they can easily be pierced with a fork. Pull out of the pan and let cool. Scoop insides out and run them through a food processor (or blender) to make it smooth. Use it as you would the canned pumpkin. It will take a bit longer to cook though.

My pepper plants have been done -- it's frosty around here.

But I did make some pickled jalapenos with garlic. I don't like spicy things (or rather they don't like me), but if I cut them into small little pieces I am okay. I, basically, made some up to use up what was not needed for salsa. I plan on giving my brother some for his birthday -- he love, love, loves spicy things. They are pretty tasty! I cannot believe how fruitful those little jalapeno and hungarian pepper plants are!

I cut mine in half, get out the seeds, brush with veggie oil and then bake on a cookie sheet for about 30-35 minutes until I can easily pierce the skin with a fork. Cool and scrape out the flesh.

I'll have to try it that way. YUM.

That pepper relish looks good! I read your recipe to my DH and he wants me to make it NOW! He is a nut for stuff that makes you cry when you eat it....just how hot was last year's with 30 jalapenos and 50 habaneros?

I bet he would like it!
Your pom/pear jelly looks awesome too! Terri O

Uhm...... I've had varying reports, hubby liked it but the local 'heat guy' said it was just ok... then I've had others ask how anyone can eat it at all due to the heat. One guy did say it had a nice after burn, whatever that meant. Oh and the numbers were approximate with the peppers... I didn't count while dealing with them

It was just my chicken feed can full on the habaneros and about 2/3 full on the jalapenos, it's about the size of a big coffee can.

Nope, I'm not amazing....... just tired of trying to find a place to live, tired of this whole move and bored out of my mind, I've only finished 6 quilt tops the last 2 weeks. Today I have mushrooms to dehydrate.

I'm a little hyper? Maybe? Though with him not here I can get one heck of a lot more done. Just don't mind the house, I'm not a housekeeper

Seriously thinking about canning something else..... it just hasn't told me what it is yet
