If this helps anyone the supplier for my local TSC store is Hoover's Hatchery so I was able to backtrack and get an idea of what chicks Hoover's would carry and they often have pictures of the adults and chicks on their site. I'm at a loss with some of mine though because just when I think I have it figured out I see something else somewhere else that looks close.

They definately aren't barred rocks for what it's worth. I think they might be Sussex as well, but EE could be possible. I could be wrong though, haven't seen too many chicks this Spring for the sake of not buying more!

>Keeping chicks on a plush white blanket
I can only hope to have half as much courage as you:lol:

I am still chuckling about the chicks on the plush blanket comment. Fortunately it wipes off easily XD

Thank you! Im new to this whole chickens thing! I totally get it my husband thinks I've lost my mind. I originally wanted 6 birds, I'm up to 14. Pretty sure my first 6 are all male >.<

with my most recent chicken endeavor, I wanted 6 hens to provide garden manure. I brought home 10. 3 months later I had 100.

Besides EEs, most breeds in the partridge variety are chipmunky as chicks..

100! Goodness... lol. I see how it can happen though. I walked into Ace for a tarp and came home with two poults.
XD

Wonderful... I was so hoping for Easter Eggers!

Lots of people - especially children - like to handle the chicks at feed stores. Unless there is a full time employee stationed there to insure the chicks go back in their respective bins, you can be assured there will be mistakes.

I'm sure they put them in the right bins the day the boxes arrive. But after customers arrive, all bets are off.
I wouldn't even bet on the staff getting it right. :D

Would these be Barred Rock's then? I got them from TSC as well. I was hoping they were Easter Eggers.
My Easter Eggers look very similar to these now named Sussex that I have. Here is a photo of one of my 3 Ameraucanas (Easter Egger) and another photo of my Ameraucana next to the Sussex, Barred Rock, and Orpington. All 3 of mine look a little different but I noticed that all of them have dark feet when compared to the rest of my flock

. I don't have a photo of all 3 of them in the same shot yet.
