What did you do in the garden today?

Morning! Thankfully we didn't lose power! We did get about 12 inches. Beats the 20 they predicted. Glad you're all cleaned up from the storm @Wee Farmer Sarah

I had to run out to my other house & turn up the heat & plug in the heat tape this am, I forgot to do it yesterday when we were out there shoveling snow. :he I sign the closing paperwork today & the new buys take possession on Tues. I'm a stress ball till this is over! Selling it has been a TON more stress than buying it ever was.

Haven't even been out to check on the birds yet but I can see the big girls are out & doing their thing not minding the snow, but the littles are hunkered in the coop. I'm going to go chase them out & lock them out. They're so dramatic, they have a covered run where just a few bits of snow blew in & they refuse to get over it. :smack

I took a pic of my lettuce for my sister but laughed when I noticed the pile of snow in it. There is another pile just as big behind it that you can't see. :gig

Good afternoon gardeners. Hubs is grumpy, I have a headache and the dog ripped out his stitches and has to start all over. :rant I’m looking forward to having tomorrow off though. I plan to get some weeds pulled and figure out size for the outdoor bunny area. Probably water also, things look like they need a sip. Not much else going on, have a great weekend.
Bunnies in the desert... sounds difficult. Is there a specific breed that is heat tolerant? Having had a pet rabbit before, I recall that heat was not it's comfort zone. At 70-75 F indoors with A/C in the summer, my rabbit would still hang out on a marble cooling stone.

Looked for garlic. Planted soft neck, hard neck and elephant garlic. All the elephant and a couple of the other have sprouted but the majority have not. Dug up some of the cloves and none have rotted and small sprouts @ the top of the cloves, so I'm guessing the cooler weather has delayed it some.
I don't see garlic anywhere for gardening. I wanted to plant some this winter to have something going on in the garden first thing in the Spring. Anybody have success planting garlic from the grocery store? And tips on preparing it for the garden?

Only during the cooler months would be ok, still have to bring them in for summer which is no problem as they’re indoor buns now. They used to be outdoors though and I feel bad that they don’t have a chance to get out there and really run. I think I’m going to take my time with that project and see how that hemorrhagic disease goes though, maybe plan something for next fall if it dies out. For now I’m going to simplify their space and make it easier to clean and maintain.

Good afternoon all. I got busy on the bunny pen and didn’t get to anything outside so definitely tomorrow. I’m holding off putting a pool in the ducks enclosure because they sleep next to their water bowl and I’d have to put it there. If I spill they’ll try to sleep in a wet spot and I don’t think that’s a good idea. I may ask for a coop mod and have hubs put in another door where we had the pop door.
