What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

It all depends why you are brushing. Undercoat rake for shedding. I would never recommend a furminator, although personally I've never used one. A good rubber curry brush, or a shedding blade is also good for shorter coats. Otherwise hands work pretty good on shorter coats too. I think you said it was a German Shepherd mix? I might just get a regular bristle brush to start with just to get them used to you brushing. Than the rest when the coat starts to change around 7-8 months.

Always be careful when brushing that you don't apply too much pressure and scratch the skin beneath.
German Shepherd and Golden Retriever, so the coats might be a bit longer.
I'm starting to wish that I had brought my horse grooming stuff out here with me, haha!
Thanks for the suggestions.

So this is what the puppies look like. :D Some do seem to have the slightly longer fur, there's a good bit of variation I think.

Aww!
Slicker brushes do work on any type of fur. But some dogs dont like them at all. The grooming kit pamps posted would give you a good start since i has multiple brushes!

Yakutian Laikas are beautiful but so similar to huskies. I just dont think a husky would work.
But Tucker is really mouthy especially the last few days, if i say something he will chime in and bark or howl🤣
