What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Thanks! There will probably be some questions. It just doesn't fit in my brain no matter how much I try and research training methods and how dogs learn and think. It's getting frustrating how badly it's failing to click.
We are hoping to set up a meeting with the puppies this Saturday and will likely bring one home then! Speaking of, I need to call the guy and leave a message because he didn't see my text.

Yeah, I am definitely confident in the timing of corrections and rewards, I'm very on top of that. It's just the actual technique that I'm struggling to learn... Hopefully being able to get in and take proper puppy training classes will help me be able to pick it up better.

Can someone give me a list of recommended doggo things to get? I've read several things, and there is a lot of non-overlap and random stuff on a lot of lists, just wondering if there are some less obvious things (obvious being crate, leash, collar, grooming tools etc.) to get.
General plan right now is adult size crate w/divider for appropriate puppy sizing, using mealtime as training using hand feeding etc. (I have a lot of free time, lol).

2 collars the puppy will get one dirty so a second one is really nice.
A slip lead, normal lead and a drag line for the house(so you can quickly catch the pup before she /he gets into things
i never used the crate divider as they wont pee or poop in their crate as they sleep in there. Well atleast most.

Lots of chews id avoid rawhides and cooked bones. Rawhides have bleach and cooked bones will crack teeth.
Bully sticks, buffalo horns.

Some enrichment toys that are good lick mats, woof pupsicles and kongs.


Since you sre getting a double coated dog be careful that the brushes dont have blades as that damages the undercoat if used to much.


A treat pouch is amazing with high value treats.
Real air dried meats and freeze dried have worked the best for us. But kibble is also great for treating so you dont overfeed.

If you rush training you'll only make yourself frustrated and cause the puppy to dislike training. I am horribly guilty of this and am still suffering the consequences. If I could go back and fix one thing it would be to make training shorter and more fun. My biggest challenge is making training fun for Chase now because I have damaged it so much.

Yes its so important not to rush. Im glad i didnt as a puppy. But i didnt always feel like trainimg but did it anyway this is where it got boring snd hard for both of us.

Thanks It has been a ton better lately, I think I have finally gotten through to him that training is fun now.

Okay awesome, I pretty much had all of this stuff in mind, so this is great!
We are planning to use a divider because we will get a large adult dog crate, and it's just a 2m/o puppy, which would give enough space for the dog to pee in a corner and sleep in another (which we don't want).

Speaking of crates and potty times, I keep seeing for overnight training that people recommend having the pup by your bed for the first few weeks, but that's not an option. The pup is almost certainly going to go at least once overnight before we get up to let him out, and I'd feel bad for the pup having to sleep in pee for a couple of hours. Even if he's all empty before bed, a pup that little won't hold it for 8hrs. Any suggestions? I do plan for the dog to be on a puppy pad in the crate.

I let Chase out every 3 hours. If you can't do that I wouldn't use a crate divider. I don't think it is fair to force the puppy to lay in waste.

Also if your puppy gets used to sleeping in waste, it will probably ruin using that to prevent it from pottying in the crate
