I do not think there is anything wrong with telling somebody they look nice; it gives them a boost for the day! Nothing wrong with making somebody feel good about themselves! I have no problem pointing out attractive women to my SO and teasing him about it; he does the same to me. It is human nature to appreciate beauty in all forms.

I have NEVER heard of a guy compliment a woman on her purse/earrings/shoes..... and I don't hear women do it that often either. Can you hear guys telling each other their boots are cool looking, or their wallet matches their outfit perfectly...... around here they would get the snot kicked out of them..... (I don't have an issue with this, but here in the land of extreme conservatism.....)
