What is wrong with my rooster?

Hi! We moved to a new house in the Los Angeles Valley, and with the house we inherited a rooster and a chicken. (We know the owners and we knew we would be inheriting them.) All of a sudden, his legs turned weird, his oil gland got infected, and his butt got nasty. I don't really know how to describe it but I have photos and videos. The rooster's name is Buddy, and he's a one and a half year old Rhode Island Red. He is really sweet, loves to cuddle. Sometimes lately he will come after our feet, rape our other chicken (Beo) and be a real pill. He rapes Beo so violently she has a bald spot on her neck and back where he has pulled out her feathers, she also has scrubs from where he has but her. Anyway, we have no idea (maybe mites?) what is causing this, so if anybody k owe it would be a great help! (Also it is molting season, and in some of the photos Buddy had just had his bath so he is wet. )

Some of those areas don't ever have feathers, like that spot on the shoulder or under the wing. Some looks to be normal molting. Preening gland looks pretty normal to me. He looks to be pretty healthy. Bright comb and wattles, clear and bright eyes, shiny feathers. No trace of mites or lice eggs. Nothing really abnormal or concerning at all. The slight bit of red through the legs is due to hormones. The feather loss on your hen is pretty typical of an over-mated hen. The only cure for her is to keep the rooster separated or get at least 6 more hens. And it's not rape, it's normal mating. He's a chicken. He can't rationalize the concept of consent. He's simply being a male chicken, doing what male chickens do. Mating is quite rough and disconcerting for those who are a bit sensitive, but it just how chickens do it.

I'd keep an eye on the red bumps around the follicles. If he's got them after he's done moulting and they get scabbed up, that would be indicative of mites, but right now it just looks like a moult.

As for your hen, you can make/ buy an "apron" for your hen during breeding season.
