OK , now I get a clearer picture of the situation. Your chicks will be confined to the area and will not need to be using the ramp for a certain amount of time. You will see as things progress how the chicks move about. They grow FAST.
You may just need to place a small piece of carpet/rug over the lip for the first few days. Then they will have no problem getting in and out. In a few days you will notice they can jump higher than we can.

I know...it still breaks my heart that someone dumped them. I hope I do good by them. They are such a joy to be around. I can't wait to see the babies! Of course, Mother Nature is being a twit...and snowing. Arrgghh..

How many eggs was she on? She will stay at least a couple days, or until the last egg hatches, or until she knows it isn't going to hatch.

I sure hope today was our last cold day!!
My momma duck hatched 12 of her ducklings over the weekend, then it got COLD again. Stupid weather.

I'm waiting impatiently for my duck to hatch her egg. Should be due any day now! I have a broody hen with 2 babies and 2 broody turkeys sharing a baby lol
