Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey all!
Well I have a problem.. besides wanting more chickens....
My barn owner and friend likes all the chickens...
And she may be in the market for a female goose, non chinese.
Rode the project horse today, at a natural horsemanship HUGE indoor/boarding place...
well I won't ride him there again... when they say things, like you can't ride him, he isn't left brained yet...
uh.. he is a well broke horse who hasn't been in an indoor in a long time, if ever and only hopped on, once in a year, and
that was me 2 weeks ago.

ACK!

I plan on going to Fondy too, with some friends. (Yes. They're BYC members too.

) I'll look for you BCC. And if you feel the urge to bring some Wheaten Americauna babies, I'd take some off your hands.....

(You know they are my favorites!)

Any one else going?

Welcome, Welcome to all the new Cheeseheads.

I was planning on going to the swap this weekend but DH and I talked it over and at this time and gas prices I will have to pass on it.

Just got back from work and back in to eat (finally) and the sleet had just started as I finished chores! Glad I am home! I guess we are supposed to get 2-3" of the slushy stuff...great more ice to slip on!
The roo that I took pics of last night departed this life sometime this after noon. I am sad as he was one I wanted to use for breeding this summer
sad.png
I have no idea where he kept bleeding from..just a drop her and there but I guess that was enough! Glad he has a brother remaining but he is not as nice looking.
Guess I will finish my dinner...then off to bed for me! Sweet dreams! Terri O

Purely Poultry is "local". I think you should be fine. But no promises.

Purely Poutlry is just a "storefront" though - Tyler and his family aren't hatching all the babies themselves here in Wisconsin. Depending on what breed(s) you order, they could come from anywhere in the country! Having said that, I've had ducklings shipped from Oregon (the state, NOT Oregon, WI

) and Iowa, and the ones from Oregon arrived faster and in better shape than the ones that came from Iowa. Unfortunately, it all depends on the Postal Service, and whether or not they have their act together on the particular days your babies are in transit.

My quail finally finished hatching this morning. A grand total of 58 hatched! BUT, we culled one, 2 of the late-hatched babies were weak and died shortly after hatching, and then my idiot boyfriend (I love him to death, but he KNOWS not to touch the baby birds when I'm not around) decided to clean the brooder while I was at work today and gave them their waterer back without rocks in the bottom, so I came home to 3 drowned babies!

The remaining 52 babies are doing great!

I'm up to 2 Call duck eggs now, and it must be one from each of my girls, because one is beige and one is pale green! Since the quail are done hatching now, I broke down and stole both eggs, and I'm going to throw them in the 'bator along with the Columbian Cochin eggs tonight to check fertility.

Good morning everyone, looks like snow today. Can't wait for them quiet spring mornings with the birds going nuts. I'll be at fondy also. I've got a trio of columbian wyandottes that are going to Iowa saturday and may bring another trio also to sell.
Annarie that sounds like alot of little fuzzy butts running around.

Susie I hear you on the gas prices!!! Looking at replacing the Jeep with something a little more fuel efficient ( I would like to get a Hybrid myself...).

Ugh, more snow..... and people on 41 will have left their brains at home. again. I wish I could drive with a big cattle catcher on the front of the car and just plow through all the idiots.......

Ok, gotta run. You all have a great day!

Good morning All! WOW so many new people, that's great! Hope you all can make it to the Bash! A big WELCOME aboard to all! I'm way behind this morning, that's what I get for sleeping till nearly 6. Looked over L's taxes and have to look at mine one more time in prep for the CPA to do them tomorrow. With the flood junk it's way beyond my simple brain. TO sorry to hear about your Roo!
