Eric, you said the poultry plunge is rescheduled to this Saturday, the 16th? Is that correct? I haven't heard anything other than what you said here. If it is.....what time? Thanks!

Quote: I guess they knew the place to be, Eric! Kinda like Dr. Doolittle? Wow, do you think they belonged to that wood duck family? 13 ducklings? I should tell my husband about them, he LOVES wood ducks. The only thing is that we live in the middle of DNR ground that has three ponds...

Welcome, Jim! Wow, sounds like a full life....that is wonderful. I grew up on a dairy farm so I know what hard work it is and it never lets up. I'm from northwest Iowa and kind of new to owning chickens. You can see in my signature what I have.

Getting Chickens back in the pen.

Oh ya, getting them to go back in in the middle of the day is another story..... I also trained mine to come to "chick chick chick chick chickeeeeeeee!" lol Then give them some good treat. Then when I need to put them away during the day, they follow me to the coop. Sometimes my two boys...

Quote: So that Buttercup is a rooster? Would he mate with large fowl chickens? And if he did, what would you end up with? Large fowl chicks or banty chicks? I would love to have a rooster that crows out here in the country.....but I don't want a bunch of bantys in my flock, they just...

to all premenopausal women!!! and their better halves

mom'sfolly : For all you young women out there....have your kids early or very late. I had my kids sort of late, mid-thirties. This gives our family the wonderful experience of having puberty and menopause going on at the same time. Nobody warned me!!!!! This constitutes poor planning on...
