hulled sunflower seeds, dried mealworms and/or mixing in some canola or sunflower oil to a quality chick starter should help him get into condition again.
I buy it without the shell...the shell adds bulk and carbs only really....the meat inside is where the good stuff is...you can get it in the bulk food bin sections at grocery stores...found a bag of it in the bird seed section at gorcers and pet/feed stores too.
Gorgeous and functional setup!!!!
Were you able to determine the cause of fire in the old barn? Heat lamps/outlets??
Sorry for your loss...glad it's behind you.

I’m Kraig Shafer from Lima, Ohio. Chickens and I go back a long ways. As a child I was always entranced by
the activities in our poultry yard. As I grew, so did my interest in poultry...
Really cool that you made the distinction... and have photos to compare.
Both sets of 'chipmunk" marked chicks are precious.
I am enjoying your developing story. thumbs up!!
Congrats!!! Look like they're cuties and not even all fluffed yet....always a joy to behold new ones. Thanks for the pics!!
here's hoping for your 10!!!
5 LF Buff Rocks at 9 1/2 weeks from Roebuck....lots of feathers in the coop/run so some juvenile molting is in process...in my amateur opinion, loving their color, type and size even this early in the game...very nice temperaments too.
Excellent post, Fred...silhouette is everything in type I am learning...
here's an example albeit not the best SOP side profile pic:
Despite these 2 birds being the same color....
and obviously the legs clue one in immediately, it is so evident even at 8-9 weeks that these are different...
