Fuxzi, there's a pet store in stoughton(not sure of the name) that has some 20% feed. It's right next to kwik trip and some laundromat, haha I'm sure these are all great directions. 18% feed is fine for them as long as it isn't medicated, and if I remember correctly you can grind up cat food and...
Sorry that I haven't posted here in so long! It's been a crappy winter. So here's my update on our little farm:
My dog passed away a few weeks ago, I'm really not sure why. He was just gone, and only a year old too. I think it had something to do with complications from being kicked by our...
Sorry it took so long. My sister got them from a rescue, they weren't neglected or anything, the previous owner just didn't have the funds for horses anymore. We got a 6 year old sorrel mare, and the paint in the picture is 13. The place she got them from is in walworth.
Our new horses came in saturday :D Super excited about them.
Isn't she a doll?
Also Cuties, I have about 6 cochin eggs I'd give off for free if you're interested. We're in Evansville
Lucky, I'm still waiting on eggs from all of mine. They are getting super red in the face now, so hopefully soon! Otherwise it probably won't be until the spring
Hey guys(: Sorry to butt in, but I'm moving to Ft Wayne in april, and am curious on the legality of owning chickens within the city? I'd probably only get 2 or 3 bantam hens, I just can't imagine not having ANY chickens since I grew up with them. If it isn't allowed I would probably keep them...
My mini donkeys look almost the same weight wise and last week the vet said that they were at a healthy size, mini's are just hard to keep at a small weight. I try not to let them get the horse's grain, and they free feed on hay.
They have a pretty decent tummy on them!
Can you guys tell...
Well, my little cochin x Phoenix is a boy I'm pretty sure. But I love his coloring so far <3 And the one on the bottom hatched a few days ago, I'm thinking its BBR Phoenix
Well the eggs that my broody quit on and I put in the 'bator are hatching, got 2 internal and 1 external pips. I hate hatching this late, we'll have chicks inside all winter!
Aha I love when chickens do poses like that! It's amazing the pics you can get.
They were following me after I let them out of the run to get their feed, I was squatting to get pictures of my cochin. It sure would hurt to lay in that gravel xD
My two mini donkeys scare off coyotes by braying, and the reason I don't let my dogs in with them is for the dogs safety xD I've seen them attempt to make a soccerball out of my pitbull
My naughty goose loves the camera, he's such a cutie! Does anyone know why he would be shaking when I fed him this morning? It's chilly here, but not too terribly cold. It's probably nothing, i just worry.
Angie- I still have the mousetrap car I made in 8th grade!(I'm a senior now, if anyone was curious xD)
This little guy showed the horns he hides behind those big ears today! While I was down working with my horse, I didn't notice him coming up behind me, and he bit me! First time I've seen...
Between my yearling and two mini donkeys, which probably equal to a full size horse, we give them 1-1.5 bales of hay a day in the winter, which we pay $3 a bale, and we go through a bag of grain in around 2 weeks. Last winter we went through 117 bales of hay, so we ended up spending around $350...
I got some pictures of my yearling(: She isn't putting on weight like she should be, I upped her grain rations, so I'm not sure why. She's 14hh right now, I really hope she gets to 15.2 or 15.3.
