The boat? Haha thanks!
Unfortunately the floor rotted out and was impossible to clean, so we pulled the whole boat out of the ground and replaced it with a 300 gallon cow trough thingy. Fairly easy swap out. It’s working out much better.
@LulaBell
Sorry, I just saw this post. I wish I could take some bantam EEs, I was going to hatch some a few months ago, but the post office ruined them. Now I’ve used my empty pens for other breeds and sadly don’t have room for the EEs at the moment.
I'm just over the WV border from you. Would like to find someone too. Lots of roos here! I usually give them away but this time of year is tough for even that. Mine are mostly bantam, so not really worth us going thru all the trouble, but if i could take them somewhere...maybe.
I could help with lav orps if my girls were laying better. :(
I also have a blue frizzle bantam cochin hen with a blue mottled rooster, I hatched 3 splash frizzles and a broody hatched 4 chicks last weekend. But the hen has quit laying too.
@Laurel Meadows has some gorgeous calicos. If she...
Welcome! :frow
Also be aware that you need at least 20 (I think 20, and also an age minimum) posts to be able to participate in the buy/sell/trade section, so do some chit-chatting if you want to get some thru there.
Oh, we also have auction threads and a Games thread for hatching eggs. :)
Wish somebody would tell my girls! Lol. I have a pair of seramas on eggs due any moment (expected some today), plus i have 3 more hens that i keep taking eggs from!
omg that is disgusting. Maybe we need to call them over to a fence....
x2
Mine have been broody crazy this year. Egg production was good until the broody bug hit. I have very few of laying age that did not go broody this year. A couple have gone twice! I've seen quite a few feather around...

So sorry. :hugs
I left some of my little ones out yesterday while I was gone for a bit. Gone longer than expected, came home after the heavy rains started and the temps dropped. A few of them found their way back inside, but some went the wrong way, and couldn't find their way back around to...
I think I have broody #25 and #26 since March sitting now. Had one quit on day 14 back in April. A trio of girls sitting together went through 5 weeks (first set of eggs all quit) and another that is still trying after i took all her eggs because she killed the fist 3 chicks. I've yet to be able...
oh i hate it when they don't act normal. Worse than kids that can't speak yet, there are soooo many possibilities with chicks.
i do like to share this symptom checker, kinda like webmd for birds.

This is a good article on ventilation -- https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/chicken-coop-ventilation-go-out-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop
The problem with this particular problem is this place is full of enablers! And yes, I too have been accused of being one. :D Last year, i had an incubation problem. I couldn't stop. This year, I've done pretty well at selling what I hatch. But I've had 10 broodies already this year too! Sold...
