    Not sure what he is?

Ok so a friend of mine called me the other day asking if I wanted another rooster (I had one before but my neighbors dog killed it) so I said yes and she told me that her neighbor was moving and had to get rid of their chickens. I brought him home and everything was good until my hens got mad...

    Sick duckling

Today I let out my chicks and ducklings (6 chicks and 2 ducks). When I came out a little later one of the ducklings was laying on it's side. She wasn't moving much and was covered withmud on the down side and there was dirt all over her bill. I picked her up and she didn't move around much, just...

    Dog attack

My 4 month old hen, Boo, got out of her pen today and about 45 minutes ago she was attacked by 3 dogs. I thought for sure she was dead but she was still breathing. She was laying very still with her eyes closed but she was taking normal breaths. I wasn't sure what I should do so I wrapped her in...

    Bringing in the baby

Baby realy isn't the right word because he isn't a baby anymore. I have a Cochin that is about 4 months old now and I need to find a way to introduce him to my flock. The only problem is that they are really mean to him when he goes into the coop, I can let them forage together and they are fine...

    Trapped chick

My eggs have started hatching and I have one already out but I think there is a problem with one of the other eggs... I checked it when I got home and it had a part chipped off the side, the bad part is that it's not where his head is. It looks like the chicks back and he seems to be having a...

    Power outage!!!

Today I was out of the house for about 11 hours and when I came home the power was out! I don't know how long it had been but all the eggs in my incubator were cold. I know that it was long enough to drop the temperature from 100 to 70. I just want to know if it is still possible to hatch them...

I think my hen is sick

My sex-link hen has been sneezing alot the past couple of days. She is acting normal but she stopped laying eggs. The average temp. is about 99-102 but it never seemed to bother her. Can someone tell me what they think? If she is sick, will my baby chicks catch it?
