I sold my breeding pair to a friend but have 1 female from GFF that I got early January from GFF as a day old that has not laid an egg yet. She's 8 months old!!! She's lucky as I will probably keep her till next spring/summer and see if she lays then. If not.... well I have a younger one that's...

Thanks everyone for the comments. I do really like him. I was not sure I'd hold on to them at first but he is such a character and a great mate to his ladies, especially his main squeeze Lula that he was paired with when i bought him. He makes some beautiful EE's with my Blue Am. I have a few...

This is my boy Atticus. He is just about a year old now. I've been told he has too much white and I should find another for breeding but I love him and my husband would not put up with me spending that kind of cash to simply replace what I already have so he's making babies. I only have a few so...

Congrats Miss Molly. I hatched some that might be mixes (they don't look like there's any Marans in those four in the brooder though) that I gotta figure out what to do with - just had to hatch some eggs. Next batch goes into lockdown today - only 1 though and a second Ameraucana x Jubilee...

Ordered some chicks with a friend and just picked up 4 Jubilee chicks shipped form Greenfire Farms. So excited. My own Jubilee eggs go into lockdown tomorrow. The hatching season is on! The chicks are so cute. Got my first ones as older chicks so this is quite a treat.

I was curious about this and asked someone in the UK and she said that mostly everyone she knows refers to them as simply Jubilees and that there are some breeders that accentuate the diffference in color to denote quality but that the idea of the mahogany gene is not a point she herself pays...

Growing up in a few former British caribbean islands and Britain I never knew there was a difference in the two terms. I always considered them one in the same so this was very interesting to read and research. "Jubilee colour variants: Mahogany, Ginger/Buff There are two variants of...

My juvie boy started crowing this weekend...sounds like it's going to be a boomer. Can anyone tell me what I might be in for? My chocolate boy's crow is not too bad on the ears. My husband has said very little about it. I'm wanting to keep at least 4 roosters so trying to get an idea of...

That is a gorgeous bird. Hopefully at least one of my girls will look like they could head my flock could in that direction. I understand what you are saying but at this point I will have to work with what I have no matter how they turn out so fingers crossed.

Good to know about the color. I was curious. I have one older girl that has a more overall spotted color than my younger girl. I was wondering if they spotted out more as they matured, but even with the month difference the younger one just seems less spotty. These are gorgeous birds. They are...

Nice birds Cherylcohen. It's wonderful that you will have such nice genetic diversity. I'll have to hit you up for some eggs when the time comes.

Here they are!!!! Just picked them up at the Post Office. So happy. My whiter one is definitely the boy. Seem much more calm than others when I took them out. This is great. Hoping to be able to hatch some eggs before winter sets in. Now to build some coops and pens.

Those are too cute - I love the awkward stages. My Marans chicks look like little dinosaurs right now - especially the males with those combs. My initial Jubilees from KidCody fell through but I have a pair shipping today that I got on rarebreeds a few weeks ago so hopefully they'll be here by...

Don't be trailblazn, I would have been excited to win also (my husband was just as happy i didn't) that was a terrific buy. It's really sad one died, especially while you were away. I feel your pain. I usually go to Florida to see the folks in the summer but I think I may hold off this...

But you scored in the end - those are soooo chute and a nice combo. I have very little luck with shipped eggs, my best hatch was 6/10 on some BCM eggs and I hear these may have fertility issues (same with my chocolates????). The Jubilees I'm getting will be about 3 weeks and straight run so...
