Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Welcome to Elisi and Vicky. I had to read four pages to catch up this morning. Nice pictures Celtic. It will be interesting to check out the different colors. Amy's eggs are all I have that are Sebbies. Maybe next spring I can branch out to some of the other people's eggs to get a good mix...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

This morning I have three pipped eggs. I am also hoping I get a splash from Amy's eggs. They are very pretty with that type of marking. Sista, I would love to see how your spotted geese come out as well. Congrats on your hatches. I currently have three bators running. One with high humidity...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Oh that is wonderful. Such great pictures. I have one egg internally pipped. I am glad to hear that Amy's geese are strong stock as I have six of her eggs in the bator on day three. She didn't know if they were Sebbies or Troulouse and I wanted Sebbies so she sent me six so that I would...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Oh wow, great picture! All of you are doing great! I candled last night and the air cells in my eggs have all dipped and I could see movement in all of them. I could see the baby's beak in two of them, but when my daughter and I listened to them we couldn't hear anything yet. Only a couple...

Sorry to hear about your eggs Marty. I can empathize. It is hard to start eggs that just don't have a chance. You are looking for some cute babies and all you end up with are bad eggs. So disappointing.

r4eboxer, That is great so we are hatching buddies now that we are both on the same day. No I don't provide food and water but it isn't very far away (maybe eight feet or so). I watched them pretty closely today and one was on the nest until in the early afternoon. Temps here were in the...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Oh wow it sounds as if the three of you are doing great with the hatches this morning. I am on day 26 this morning and have good movement and nice air cells. Outside my three geese are playing musical nest. I let them out this morning and one goose got off of the nest and the next one climbed...

Iain and psue, It is nice to know that you have a buddy to sweat bullets with. I'm not too far behind the two of you as mine should hatch around the 4th or 5th of April. psue, I think I will try the skunk idea myself it sounds like a winning idea. I also like the individual box method...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

I have Amy's eggs and I have to say that she packs them very well! I have weighed them and marked them. She sent me six big eggs and they are beautiful. I have to say that the shipping is terrible this year. The tracking showed where she sent them and never showed where they went after that...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Wow, I am behind you just by a few days on my latest eggs. I started them on 3/05, and seeing good movement. Amy's eggs are on their way to me. Guess what? She lives not too far from where I have land that I bought to retire on. She told me to drop by when I came out her way. She said good...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Hi Chikn and chik, I too left my lid off of the incubator when I was cooling my eggs and they were just fine. It is scary when you aren't sure if it affected your babies. I am sure they are okay. just go with the flow.

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Marty, Amy told me that she has plenty of eggs and she may have to buy another bator if she doesn't do something else soon if someone else needs goose eggs. Kawonu, sorry for the mispelled name earlier, I should have double checked. Shipped eggs have been really bad this year. I hatched more...

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Psue, are you saying the ones that are held up by their air cells are alive? The one that sinks is at the same day, day 31. I hope you are right because the eggs that are floating (the large air cell tip) include my two Sebbie eggs and I would really hate to lose the last two.

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Okay I had one egg sink pointy side down all the way to the bottom of the water. All of the other eggs were placed pointy end down and they floated at the air sac level with points down. Can anyone tell me if they are still alive if they float at air sac level?

Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Iain, I used warm water and took the eggs out quickly. Only one egg sank all the way to the bottom, the others floated at the air sac. Are they suppose to sink all the way to the bottom? I took the temp of my water before I started and had it at 98* F so that it wouldn't be too hot or too...
