~«Survival By War»~ (Warrior cat rp)

Ravenclaw bounded back into camp with a fish in her jaws. “Hey, ish that Ashstripe?” She exclaimed through the fish in her mouth. “Cool! Hey, Ashstripe! Gla’ to shee your feelin’ be’er!” She made a beeline for Nettlepaw and Ashstripe before realizing they were in the middle of a heated conversation.

Gla’ to shee your feelin’ be’er!” She made a beeline for Nettlepaw and Ashstripe before realizing they were in the middle of a heated conversation.
"I would keep your distance," Sagepaw slid up to the she-cat, amber eyes wide. "Ashstripe isn't really supposed to have visitors still, and Nettlepaw...she's a little...stressed right now." She glanced worriedly into the den, and then edged away to give the medicine cats space, walking alongside Ravenclaw. "I think she was under to much pressure trying to care for the clan all by herself, and Ashstripe."

Nettlepaw pulled back, her white tail tip flicking uneasily. "There are cats," she murmured softly. "That will use anything against anyone. There are cats in this clan I do not trust. There are cats, that I know if they found out, that they would most likely use this against you." She blinked slowly, giving a shrug. "I'm not saying they would, I'm not say who they are, but there are cats out there. And plenty of them."
Nettlepaw's words didn't instill fear in Ashstripe, but, rather, she experienced an incredible surge of utter sadness. To be told that her own apprentice, intended to someday become advocator for Clan-wide unity, couldn't place her wholehearted reliance everywhere was disheartening indeed.
"Then I'll take your word for it," she mewed somberly, head low. "Willowstar's kits will never come to any harm because of my negligent choices."

Nettlepaw fell silent, but stiffened when she called the kit's Willowstar's. Deep down, there was still bitterness inside her. Bitterness that Ashstripe couldn't raise her own kits and call them her own. Bitterness towards Willowstar for ridding Hawkclaw and Ashstripe of their love.
But she couldn't change it, even if she wanted to.
"I have to go check on the kit's and Grayfur." She rose to her paw's, hesitating. She drew her tongue swiftly over Ashstripe's ear, smoothing the fur quickly, and vanished out of the den without another word.

Ashstripe sat there.
And would still be sitting there when Nettlepaw returned.

Nettlepaw slowly made her way over to the nursery, slipping inside. In the dim light, she could see Grayfur curled around two kits. "Hello, Grayfur." She murmured. "How do the kits seem?"

~

Crowpaw was aware of fresh dawn light filtering into the bramble thicket where the traveling cats resided, and lifted his head slowly. He stood, careful not to tred on any paws or tails on his way out. He gasped softly when his hind leg came down on something very fluffy, and slowly he craned his head to see, wincing as he realized the tail he had accidently crushed was Hazelpaw's.

Her heart flipping from being brutally ripped from the desensitizing clutches of sleep, Hazelpaw's head flew upward. Only once the dim dawn light had aided her to notice Crowpaw did her hazy panic ease.
"Thanks for the gentle wake-up call, dork," she mouthed with hardly any audible enunciation, then gracefully made her way out of the denning cove.

"Sorry, sorry!" Crowpaw whispered, scrambling out of the thicket with much less grace then she did. He shook his pelt, forcefully shaking a thorn lodged in his scruff to the ground. "Are you alright?"

Gingersplash tilted her head in thought. "Well, I don't know what I'll do now that I'm a warrior. For the vigil, I begged one of the warriors one time to tell me what it was like. Boring, they said. But at the same time exciting, because you know StarClan is watching you."

~

Silverkit dismissed his other words quickly, and stopped batting at the moth suddenly. "Really!?" She gasped, eyes widening into huge orange moons. "Thank you, Snakepaw! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

~

Brokenwing frowned. She wanted to take the salmon back, but she knew if she did, she wouldn't be able to do it alone, and would break the scale. "We'll come back for it."

"I'm not surprised, I mean you do have to sit in silence for a whole night, which might be hard for all three of you but hey it'll only be one night." Dustypaw noted before he tilted his head "Starclan may not be doing much watching though, with everything that's going on, I don't know how much faith I have in them following your vigil."

~

Snakepaw huffed, pretending Silverkit's excitement didn't effect him much. "Don't mention it, I didn't really do much of anything... but seriously don't mention it, I don't want other cats excepting me to do more things like that."

~

Lostpaw nodded "It shall only take a moment, I doubt it will vanish." He said decidedly as he leaped up the ledge to camp, excepting Brokenwing to not be far behind.

The screeching call of a murder of crows roused Ravenpaw from sleep rather abruptly. She raised her head, her pelt fluffing out as a chilly breeze drifted through the front of the den.
As sudden as a water vole darting for it's burrow, though, she leapt to her paws. Without hesitating, she had slipped through the ferns and pelted across the clearing.
Ravenpaw wasn't built like other CloudClan warriors. She wasn't broad shouldered, and she didn't have the short legs that had incredible amounts of strength packed into them. She was long, tall, and lithe, a sharp pointed face and long, thin legs made for running.
Constantly she wondered who her father was. Was he a WaterfallClan cat, she wondered? But they were built for swimming, not running. A Tribe cat, or even a loner?
She skidded into the Medicine cats den, eyes alight. "Canopypaw, Canopypaw, Canopypaw, Canopypaw, wake up! You will not believe what I dreamt about last night! Come on, wake up!"

Canopypaw jolted forward, her eyes wild and her lips peeled back like she was expecting to have been awoken by something horrible. She immediately blinked and loosened back up when she realized it was just Ravenpaw, she glanced to Cloudfur's old nest as if to see if she had woken up but with sinking realized she remembered her mentor was gone for good. She yawned and squinted tiredly at her "Ravenpaw... it's the middle of the night-" her voice trailed off as she saw the light pouring faintly into the vine covered Medicine den entrance, she had overslept it looked like. "Anyways... what's up?" She asked with forced casualness.

Grayfur gave a small greeting purr "Oh the kits are just wonderful, they were born early so they don't have as much energy as most new kits but I don't think they're unhealthy, thank Starclan." She explained to Nettlepaw before glancing to the entrance "This is the first Willowstar has been really away from them, she's so protective. She's a rather nervous mother, poor dear is always fretting over them."

Gingersplash scowled slightly, glancing at the sky. "You have to have faith in our ancestors, Dustypaw." Her tone was that of a cat who had repeated the same thing many, many times. "They may be vague and distant, but they are there for us, and they will protect us. You just have to keep faith in them!"

~

"What do you mean!? Of course you did something!" Silverkit hissed, the moth utterly forgotten. "And don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
She stared up at him, almost expecting her chest to burst from the excitement that she would be a apprentice, and from the admiration she felt for the older cat. "I promise."

~

The scale still clutched delicately between her teeth, Brokenwing leapt onto the ledge, following Lostpaw carefully. As they entered camp together, Rabbitleap burst into giggles, watching them, a glint in her eye.
Brokenwing scowled, quickly slipping inside the warrior's den, carefully choosing a nest at the back, and laying the scale carefully inside, before slipping back out to join Lostpaw.

~

"Sorry! Sorry! Did I interrupt a dream? Sorry! I'm so stupid, I should have been smarter then to wake a sleeping medicine cat!" Ravenpaw paced furiously, tail whipping back and forth.
"Erm...well, I had a dream." She stated lamely, not ceasing her restless pacing. "I think it was the Dark Forest. Because...because there was another cat there...she mentioned Two-Face..."
She frowned, skirting to the side to avoid knocking over a pile of delicately stacked herbs. "But it wasn't a dream. Because...because I could scent things, and...clearly hear voices, and I felt the mist and..." She stopped abruptly, sitting down quickly and staring at Canopypaw.
"And the gray tabby wanted to recruit me, and Canopypaw what do I do!?"

~

Nettlepaw bent her head, sniffing each she-kit gently, before pulling away slowly. "They're healthy.." She murmured, watching as the smoky gray kit squealed softly in her sleep. She felt a pang at Grayfur's words. But she isn't really a mother. They aren't her kits.
"She is a wonderful mother," she agreed, her soft and calm façade never breaking. "The kits will grow to be healthy and strong warriors with parents like Hawkclaw and As—Willowstar."
