«We Could Be Legends»

"You think I haven't tried to make her understand that?" Wolfram hissed, looking over at River. "Do you think I feel like arguing right now? No. I don't. I want to find Bleddyn before she gets herself killed, and get everyone out of this place. But I can't do that with Alice acting like an idiot!"
His chest was heaving heavily after he finished. He glanced back at Camilla, then at Alice. "Heal me so I can find Bleddyn."
"Wolfram, I wasn't directing it at you. I agree with you and Cam, in this situation." River said blankly, casting her dark eyes over at him. "I want to find Bleddyn just as much as you, I've known her since she was born."
Alice stepped away from the three who seemed to be ganging up on her folding her arms defiantly across her chest. She wanted to yell and argue and fight, but there was no point. They wouldn't believe her, and she couldn't believe them.

"Fine." Alice grumbled, she sighed and stepped forward offering her hands to Wolfram again to heal him the rest of the way.

"I'm not the idiot here, idiot." She grabbed his hands in hers angrily and continued healing him, closing her eyes tight, not just to concentrate, but also so she wouldn't have to look at his stupid face.
Camilla shook her head, her fists clenched. "Since when did you did you get like this?" She spat, turning on her heels and stalking away over to Finlay and Lachlan who were standing beside an unconscious Ash, watching awkwardly as the four argued.
Brisa opened her eyes, turning to look at the group of frustrated people with a shocked look on her face. “Connor, Jenna, and Sherri are dead?” She asked, her heart sinking. I don’t believe that. That can’t be true. But somewhere inside she knew that it was.
River's heart sank, looking over at a battered Brisa. She was friends with Sherri... And Connor was pretty much every one of these kids' uncle-figure. She crouched down beside her, a look of sympathy on her face. "Yeah, I... Saw it happen. I'm sorry, Brisa." She murmured, her voice suddenly soft once again.

"Oh, it's them," Indigo said vaguely. She stared at his violet eyes, glaring at the black flicker that infected them like a cancer. "Could you please just go away?" she asked, politely as she could. "Calm, Toby, they'll leave you."

Toby shrank farther away from Indigo under her glare. He didn’t know what he did to make her upset. “I-I’m sorry,” he said, watching Alpha as he continued to paw at Toby’s arms.
Under different circumstances, Toby might’ve laughed at the absurdity of Indigo’s enchantment. “They-they won’t leave. When asked. Even nicely. They won’t leave me. I... I’ve tried.” Toby said softly.

“Yeeeah,” Indigo drawled. “That chicken.”
By now she had gotten most of the zombies... I mean people... organized. She had even discovered some members of the Multitude that could help. Now they were figuring out what to do with the injured and such and she could focus on other matters. Like Toby. “Where’s Toby now?” she wondered.
"That's Frosty to you, Alan," He squeaked, fanning his destroyed tail indignantly.
Jessi walked to where she last saw Toby, anxious to make sure he was okay. But instead of finding her brother, she saw... a chicken?
‘Frosty?’
Jessi growled. She couldn’t help but laugh. How he managed to survive this long, she had no idea. She thought the stress would’ve killed him.
‘Uncle Crow, meet Frosty. Yes, he speaks perfect English. He’s part of the Multitude, and Indigo’s partner,’ Jessi said, looking at Crow. She turned her attention back to Frosty. ‘We’re going to the cars. Come here, I’ll give you a lift.’ Jessi lowered her wing, her claw outstretched to make a small perch.
Jessi's laugh made Frosty jump. "Oh, thought you were a cat.." he muttered, strutting over to her and hopping onto her wing.
Crow's wyvern wasn't as good as Toby's, and he couldn't understand some of what she said. Did she say.. he's blue's wife? I think I need to practice my wyvern more often. He nodded at Frosty. "I can speak chickenese, well, when I'm in bird form."

Jessi raised her wing once Frosty was on. ‘I can’t speak chickenese,’ she said, even though no one asked.
She walked towards the cars, careful not to knock off Frosty. Once they arrived, Jessi lowered her wing and pointed a claw to a few people crouched by a van. ‘There’s Peter and Grace. Wait a sec, what’s happening to Peter?’ She asked, shooting a worried glance at Crow.
She then realized Toby was no where to be seen. Oh no. She thought, looking around. Her eyes stopped on River, and Jessi quickly moved towards her. ‘Where’s my brother?’ Jessi asked. By the worried expression she had on her wyvern features, it was obvious what she was asking.

Wolfram rolled his eyes, and just waited in silence. Slowly, the throbbing in his leg and his arm faded, and he felt a lot less dizzy and sick then before. He pulled away suddenly when he heard Brisa's voice.

He turned around suddenly, not realizing she was there. "Oh...Brisa. I'm sorry, I...yes. They...they died." He looked away from her, unable to look at the sheer horror and grief in her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Brisa."

River looked up at her, instantly knowing what she wanted. "Toby's in the van. He kept saying he was scared of hurting us, and was talking about a 'they' in his head. I managed to calm him down a little, told him he'd be alright and that he wouldn't hurt us, and to rest in the van and stay with Alpha."

Alice stumbled forward when he yanked away, and looked through the trunk at Brisa who was now awake. Brisa, who had barely been alive a few minutes ago, who's blood was still all over her hands.

"I guess he's done being healed. Aunty, I'll heal you too." Her voice was quiet, barely above a whisper. Even if she didn't believe they were gone everyone around her did, and that by it self was enough to make her heart hurt. She made eye contact with River, searching her eyes for the truth. She wanted to tell her it wasn't true. That her parents were fine. But she couldn't. In what ever crazy upside down world she had found herself, her parents were gone.

Alice gently put her hands on River's forearms allowing her own energy to flow again, slowly mending her aunts injuries.

‘So... you mean he’s having an episode? Great. That’s just peachy. Leave it to him to not be able to pull it together until we’re somewhere safe,’ Jessi snarled, looking towards the car Toby was in.
She moved towards the nearest dead Pure member, grabbing his arm in her mouth and flying away. When she came back she was in her human form, wearing the mans clothes.

River stood up, allowing Alice to begin healing her, gritting her teeth as her wound stitched back together, and a fractured rib mended. "Th- Ah... Thanks, Alice." She rasped, meeting her niece's eyes with her tired, remorseful ones. I wish you were right, Ali, I really wish you were right.

"Jessi, what can you tell me about Toby's episodes?" River asked, glancing back at the girl.
