Well, the quail seem to be enjoying their newfound freedom. Gandalf (tuxedo male) ran around his old cage for a bit, looking for the door, before he figured out that he could be chasing ladies instead. Male #2 has to be penned still: he can't get along with Gandalf. I'm going to process him this weekend when I do the CX and maybe some Chanteclers.

I thought for sure my new babies with this white are going to be girls because their moms have it.

Make sure you have multiple thermometers in the incubator. You may have a couple of hot spots.

originally it was a spike so I readjusted and now I think problem is cold spots....not sure as eggs that hatched healthy are right next to those that didn’t hatch so I’m scratching my head!! hubby thinks the thermostat malfunction is result of unstable house temp with its location but I think it’s just a cheap incubator thing and fact I’ve been running it nonstop for past several months.
