➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I did a little digging last night and I think the quail only really need the high levels of everything for the first 3 weeks.

It's raining again here today so I will be staying home doing a lot of quail researching.
I will share my findings.
As far as the high level protein (28% to 30%), you are correct. The adults still need higher levels of lysine and methionine than is found in chicken feed but not as high as the levels found in a good game bird starter.

I have previously linked to the study on quail feed several times in this thread but am too lazy to look for it now. At least once was about the time that Nutty was trying to figure out what he was going to feed his quail.

I'll find it.
I usually bookmark the good read so I might have it bookmarked too.

Your local game warden is paid to know the G&F laws.

Lysine and niacin are B vitamins and can be provided by adding one half capsule or tablet of a quality vitamin B complex to one gallon of water. It needs to be the only additive in the water and should be made fresh daily. BOSS (Black Oil Sunflower Seeds) is a good source of methionine but care must be used since BOSS is a low protein, high fat food.

Eggs are a good source of high quality protein but it is only 12% protein.

Proper turkey feed will be the same as game bird feed and most companies list their turkey feed as turkey or game bird feed. Turkey poults also have the same nutrition requirements as game birds although adult turkeys have lower requirements than adult quail.
I think this might be the post/link.
Maybe not.
