yes....it was the asshole who’s dogs run the fence and bark at my birds......that when houdini (my scarlet tux) escaped told me one of my “chickens” had gotten into his yard! he’s a total idiot evidently and probably doesn’t even own that house!!! sorry it took me so long to reply....i’ve been blowing up fb with city ordinance!

I would love to be the one to fight it head on but not in a position right now to take it on! It just kills me though that 8 turkeys same as 8 finches in their eyes! If I put just 8 quail in my aviary that would just be stupid! Haven’t posted in other forums yet as I was waiting on today’s clarification but believe me I’m gonna be posting everywhere!!!! But for now I just have to start building my room with enough cage space to start keeping my quail as livestock

im sorry. If i was attacked in this way right now i wouldnt have the time and money to fight it all proper like either. I saw alot of posts like yours in our forums law and ordinance section so im anxious to see if someone can help you. Please tag me when you do so i can follow along even though i cant contribute.

I dropped one of my eggs. :-( That leaves 28 plus 2 of mine (I expected one tonight, but I haven't seen one yet) and 6 from the person I sold my jumbo covey to. Total, 36.

I'm setting a calendar reminder for lockdown on the evening of Friday, October 4th.

i posted in laws/ordinances earlier this evening as well as blowing up facebook groups. planning to post copy of ordinance at RK and TSC and possibly contact local newspaper that wrote the article in 2017 about what city wanted to pass but couldn’t. they admitted that the ordinance was written without clarity leaving it open to interpretation which means that they could include indoor “pets” as well that they interpret as livestock or similar thereto. i have no problem complying with a clearly written, published ordinance, BUT I researched like crazy prior to ever getting my first bird.....so don’t change or hide rules to suit your own personal (or a vegan) agenda!
the animal control officer actually said to code enforcement in front of DH “this stuff keeps you in a job” while it was a “waste of his time”.

Sorry muddy thats just so terrible! Id be beside myself. I hope someone can guide you along to fixing this idiocy. I know that shes not active anymore but walnuthill had gone up against her citys new ordnance and she Won so there is hope for you. There have got to be others right there in that section who can help. If i find out anyone versed in legal matters ill sure send em your way!

Well, I decided the integrate some of the quails. I have adults and young ones - 25 days old. I took the adult female and put it in the cage of the young ones (instead of putting the young ones in the cage of the adults) and she did not even notice there are other birds in the cage. All calm and happy. Then I took the adult male out of his cage and hold him just outside of the chicks cage (with the females in there too). The male started doing some sounds, not crowing, other sounds.. at which the young chicks totally freaked out and started running around the cage so scared! Obviously I did not put him in the chicks cage. I am thinking of trying the same tomorrow, but without the female in the chicks cage.

So I had a baby that is starting to get skinny spit up a ton of water/saliva on me today. It was a lot. I thought I had somehow drooled but it was all over the front of the bird and she was facing away from me.

Could there be a crop issue causing this and the diarrhea? Do I need more grit? The food they're on has ground and chunky corn/peas, there are often whole pieces.

The first batch of chicks on the same food had no weird skinniness/extreme pecking/attempted cannibalism/clear watery spit up...but they did have occasional runny poops cuz I was giving them cucumbers. But batch 2 has had 0 cukes.

We dropped some on the kitchen floor after collection this morning. Not hatching eggs tho if they were just cracked you could try taping. My 1 lav man egg that developed and hatched was cracked and taped
