➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

We are at 16 chicks out of their eggs. There's a few more actively breaking out. The incubator is action packed. Chicks lounging, walking, climbing over eggs, eggs rocking, chicks pipping and cracking through eggs, chirping... wow! It's popcorn alright!

Excellent! Conditions must have been very stable, so kudos to you. The chicks also look very perky and robust! Good stock.
Were they eggs from your stock or what?

The eggs were shipped from Orchard Hill Poultry in Georgia. Very well packed, great customer service and just shy of 70% made it to lockdown.

Took our dog, Rudy, to the vet. She has tapeworms. Ugh! We have only had her for a month. She likely had the worms from before we adopted her, but they didn't get far enough in their life cycle to show in poop until now.

Now that I am back, there's 30 chicks out of their eggs. I don't think one of them is going to make it though. It looked stuck behind the membrane which was rather rubbery in this one egg. I gave it just a bit of help. Then it muscled its way out of the egg and I think tore a blood vessel near the yolk sack. It bled a bit. I lightly pressed paper towel to it near the bleed, avoiding pressing on the yolk sack. It stopped so I left the chick alone. Now it's just laying in the fetal position in the incubator. :( There were a few others I helped just because the shell sort of caught them as they were trying to get out. They looked like chicks caught in a bear trap made from egg shell. I just lifted the "lid" of the shell and they were on their way.

Did they give her a pill?
