This is good to hear because I used to think I wanted ducks just because they are so cute and personable and I still think I do eventually but they really are soooo messy that I’m just not sure haha I think it’s probably better if you have a pond or larger water source that doesn’t get dirty in two seconds.

We had numerous buckets and a huge pool, but it doesn’t matter how many you have because they dirty them all.

I really didn’t want my chickens drinking dirty water anymore because it seems that the chickens gravitate more towards the dirty water than anything else.

Our friend who is taking them lives right on the lake so it will be better for them.

I don’t think I will get ducks ever again

So i have 9 quail and only 2 eggs don’t have external pips! Let’s just say I’ll never order from anywhere but myshire.

We are rehoming the ducks today and trading for two bunnies ducks really aren’t for us. We really like chickens and quail. I will not get waterfowl again. They destroy everything of the chickens.

I’m really loving quail. We got their aviary semi done. They’ll be moving out there tomorrow or the next day.

Ok I’ll take pics. All that’s in the aviary is a big rose bush my ducks are in it right now waiting for their new owner to get them. Once they are gone I’ll take pics.

Sorry, I've been sick (it's probably Norovirus) so I haven't felt up to getting them. But I will!

Yeah, that’s why I was saying a pond or something would be better because even a kiddy pool or stock tank or something is fairly “small” to a duck lol or like not small per se but gets dirty super fast as opposed to a big pond hahah like our whole bottom bowl/front yard could probably be a pond

But yeah my chickens love dirty water lol I can’t really stop it.

Norovirus made me get hospitalized for 2 weeks a year ago. It’s awful. Stay hydrated!

It’ll make them sick... I believe dirty water is what has made some of our chickens sick in the past.
