āž” Quail Hatch AlongšŸ„š

Oof, I just checked Facebook and there's a guy in the quail genetics group I'm in that's really mad at Myshire right now. To be fair, he's right, the info they gave in their Genetics video about the color he bought is wrong, so he was expecting something that just straight up couldn't happen. Then he was told, I guess, that he needed to breed the quail he hatched for six months to a year to get them to breed true...to the color he was told he bought. That also doesn't make sense.

I hate to say it, but after this and after the Falb Fees I hatched that also weren't quite right, I think maybe Myshire doesn't 100% understand the genetics behind their colors. Though it's nothing they can't bang out in a couple generations of quail, as long as they do the research. They are relatively new to quail and possibly to color genetics in general, so it's understandable.

that sounds much better than i imagined!! mine arrived last night and i accidentally cracked one in setting.....the large turners for the brinsea are a bit tricky with jumbo eggs. i accidentally mixed some of them up with my 8 homegrown that are due to hatch way earlier so hopefully i can sort them back out at lockdown time. i had to move all 3 pheasant eggs over to the other incubator as they definitely would not fit in the divided turner šŸ¤£ but while itā€™s rated for 66 quail eggs, i managed to squeeze all 68 in until i can candle for clears!!!

You should also have the original bin divided smaller turners. You van place pheasant eggs there in a zig zag pattern, stabilize them selfs.

i have 3 buttons in the brooder from the hatch (the first 2/5 total did not survive.
the budgie is currently sitting on 6 of her eggs
3 pheasant eggs in janoelle 12
68 coturnix in brinsea
I accidentally overflowed my ponds again tuesday night (misunderstanding with mr muddy thinking he turned it off) i lost my smallest koi as a result hoping it is the only loss :he
we need to turn the aviary again this weekend and process chickens and consider moving turkeys to other side now for a few weeks. wondering if some of my recent quail loss may be due to accidental injury from getting stepped on by the clumsy monsters!!
itā€™s been an eventful and frustrating week overall but TGIF!!! šŸ¤£
