➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Great shipping and fertility. I had equally good hatch rate on the ones I ordered from purely poultry. They may have jumbos in stock.
i had a pretty good hatch from purely poultry as well but my fertility barely made the 70% they guarantee. (and the cost was much higher for the eggs). i must’ve had my temp a bit lower on this hatch in addition to the power outage. This is first time ever I’ve hit hatch day with zero activity!!

Wow! What great hatches everyone! Well done! :clap

I think I tapped out at 18 (-2) = 16, with shrink wrap and another chick that was just wonky not making it. No weird feet or splayed legs, huzzah.

I'll take it! Now I know I can be lazy and throw old eggs in and mostly ignore them and I'll still get some, just not that many.

So, the super dark red tibetan ones are E/E and will breed true bred to each other, and throw the lighter red E/e red ranges when bred to anything else (in theory).
It’s been awhile since I’ve had a genetic class so I’m rusty..... What about Tibetan bred to a Italian? I was thinking the Italian color was dominant as well.

speaking of the tibetans.....how close is hatch day???

Who, me? Mine just finished! (I think, I haven't pulled them yet).

Unfortunately I believe it's ended up the other way around when I did it! I only got red range babies. Extended red seems to mask it. You should try it though! There are genes that affect the expression of other genes in layers so you never know.
