➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I stopped getting notifications for this thread for some reason. :barnie

I have decided to get rid of the TX A&M birds and just stick with jumbo browns. They are easier to sex and that makes a significant difference for us.
If you click on the watched threads link, it does a much better job than does the alert system.

That's how I realized I was not getting the alerts. I saw this in watched threads with loads of activity.
On another note, I culled all 20 of the TX A&Ms out of the flock today. Took about an hour to clean them all. While I prefer the taste of them with skin on, I skimmed them all for the sake of time and effort.
Also, my chicken and turkey eggs should hatch soon. We have a pip on one of the turkey eggs already. They are due tomorrow, but the source of the eggs says her turkeys have been hatching a day early.

You won't get a new alert until you view the last alert you got.

Give me a little while to think of a better way to say this.

First one hatched!! About 15 more are pipped already!:jumpy

Of course the day started with yet another escape by Pi whose name has officially been changed to Houdini as this was at least his 3rd escape! The neighbor found him today on the wrong side of the fence!

I am considering a low height aviary... there is a space between are raised patio and sunroom that is approx. 6'x18'. The eve on the sunroom is approx. 8' high and the raised patio is approx. 3' high. I am considering stretching a net over the area. I need to run a drain pipe for the gutter downspout first though to route the water away during rain. Currently the area floods during rain, which quail would not appreciate.
