๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก 2๐ค22 ~ Flo's Hatch-A-Long ~

I've attempted to candle, yes. It looks like both chicks inside the eggs are fully developed, however, I don't see any movement.

Flo is doing a great job of keeping up with the chicks while still incubating the final 2 eggs. Today she got off the nest for the first time since Friday, which was my chance to take pictures of the chicks so I can track their growth. Will post pictures later today or tomorrow!

I found this auto-sexing guide on the Cackle Hatchery website. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

I have a Silver Duckwing OEGB chick, which falls into the auto-sexing breeds category, apparently. Needless to say, according to the SS below, is my "chipmunk" chick a female or male?

I posted a video on page 16 of this thread... it has a video of the Chipmunk chick, Chippy.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Hoping it's a pullet!

She is a purebred OEGB, correct?

I don't have much experience sexing from down color, but just for the heck of it, I'm going with female. Just a random hit in the dark, a fun guess, basically.

I believe it's male.

I sex Silver Duckwing OEGBs based on coloration.
Females are darker, with well defined stripe, eyeliner, black outlined stripes, & clear arrowhead.

Males are lighter, & occasionally lack eyeliner darkness, dark lines, arrowhead sharpness.

Jelly Bean is a good example for female.

It looks like she has a little tuft in the second picture! :love

Then it won't work....
She has no โ€œbuff cochin mixโ€ traits, so Iโ€™m sure itโ€™ll work at least a little bit.

If not, even better. Because then MysteryChicken has a chance of being wrong about it being a cockerel, lol. Not that I want Mystery to be wrong itโ€™s just I do not need another cockerel.

No feathered feet either?

Well anyways, rooting for a pullet!

Too much bees today. Too. Much.

Hundreds.

Flying around EVERYWHERE.

The sugar water didnโ€™t seem to work great for me. Anyone have any other tactics for deterring bees?
