You bet i have!
First, you should check the state law and local rules weather you are allowed to sell eggs without any eggspensive certification and how many you are permitted to sell b4 you need a business license. - For example, according to the
WV agricultural department i am a small egg producer: » Small Egg Producers is any person marketing 150 dozen or less per week of his or her own production. « 150 dozen per week is a lot of eggs!
Second you should keep a record of how much your duck egg production actually costs you, you may work for (less than) nothing without even knowing it. I use my
Duck-Financials table on Google to track the costs. I am happy if the ducks pay for their pellets, cat-food and straw by themselves.
That was the easy part! - Now comes the challenge:
Find customers…
I made a "Duck eggs for sale" sign and placed it at the entrance to my driveway, unfortunately my road isn't a through road, so i have very little walk-ins and most of the neighbors have their own chicken flock.

I have made several unprofitable attempts to sell duck-eggs on farmer's markets, organized by various churches and the concession fee had always eaten up the duck's money.

Offered the eggs on craigslist and upset "a little girl":

And a scammer tried to rip me off a little later:

Then i went to the
illegalwild-flea market here on the P&R lot at the interstate

Asked many many restaurants, bakeries and pastry shops in the area, they were all interested but wanted a certification from the FDA (or so).
In the end i found an Asian-Market, run by a Chinese family who is paying me $2.75 per dozen - yes, i know
cheap, cheap, cheap but it'll pay for the pellets, the cat-food and the straw-bales.
My wife now sells a lot of stuff on that flea-market and sneaks in the one or the other dozen of eggs, but more that $4 per dozen isn't possible.
