Anybody else crazy about planting flowers and gardens ???

It was 57 yesterday and i was able to go out and do lots of spring cleaning. The ground is still frozen.

I am going to look up winter sowing.

I just dug up a big patch of daylily because I need vegetables more than I need flowers. I still have several daylily gardens, so it's not like I hate them or anything....LOL

Since I still like flowers BUT want to produce more food, I am putting edible flowering kale in front of the veggie areas

Where is a good place to order good producing fruit and veggies and still be cheap? I wasn't going to plant a garden but I need it to keep me sane in the summer with all the kids home. I tried to get the kids into it but they kept pulling the plants not the weeds! But I don't care what the package says I am going to prestart everything in the house, because really last year I didn't have much grow up from seeds.

Oh definately, i'm anxious to get my nails dirty!

I'm going to try my hand at straw bale gardening this year.

For the last two years, our garden hasn't done poot. I think our soil might be petered out (we had it trucked in). I'm going to take a sample to our county extension office and have them test it for whatever it needs to get it back up to snuff.

But I followed a link that someone posted here about straw bale gardening and I went out and bought 4 bales of wheat straw this past weekend. I've started the decomposition process and can't wait to see how that goes.

Yay for vegetable gardening!

Still
getting used to some parts of this board, lol.

Your garden is very nice!! I looove the table thing to view the yard. And the Buck was a nice suprise! We used to see deer in our back yard but then the neighbor's kids started riding quads in the back woods...OUR back woods... we just don't see the deer now.

Hopefully if we can keep them out now, the deer will come back.. I hope so.. It's far enough way they don't bother my garden!

I love gardening. This year we are mainly planting winter squash but we'll also have eggplant, okra, beans, corn, cucumbers and tomatoes. I've learned that squash and okra do real well down here so i always plant some for moral reasons. By the time everything else has died the squash and okra are still going strong. When it dies i annually swear never to plant again, knowing full well that i'll be at it again in 6 months. YAY for Spring!

I'll send you some warm fronts!

argh my work blocks it I will check in the morning for sure I can not wait to see I just love looking at everyone's gardens so many beautiful works!
Quads are fun (I guess) but awful to live around so I understand they do scare all the wildlife away and make a horrific amt of noise
(I know they keep me in business with all the injuries we see in our clinic during the summer

thank you for your kind words ... that table is going to be so cool my husband has this great top he is welding together from an old frame and some other stuff he found in his stash that fits perfectly and looks beautiful (I think) ... best part after eating we can hose it down!

I have to be careful seating people however if we imbibe..I do not want folks toppling off my tier!
