Bantam Cochin with a Sneeze

Good morning everyone,

I bought two young bantam cochins at the Ohio National a few weeks ago. I brought them home, and put them in quarantine. After a day, both had a sneeze and very light gurgling when breathing. I immediately treated them with All-in-One powder, which treats multiple illnesses. A few days later, one of the cochins died. I'm assuming it was a mix of stress, illness, and cold. It's been a few weeks and the remaining cochin is looking and acting better, but she still has a sneeze and gurgling.

What should I try next? Maybe I need to up the dosage? Refresh her medicated water more frequently? I also have Baytril, which I usually use for sinus infections. Maybe I should switch to that?

Let me know what y'all think. None of my other birds have expressed signs of illness. My quarantine area is 15 miles away from my main flock, so I'm not really too worried about my other birds getting whatever the illness is.

I'm very familiar with vet rx. Unfortunately, it's just a vicks vapor rub for chickens. It helps them breathe a little easier, but it does not treat any condition.

I had success treating some chickens with raspatory problems. Cleared them up after a few days and never came back. would this mean they still have something going on that is just too minor for me to notice?

Goodness, getting sick birds from a show, how awful!
I think I'd stop bringing birds home from these "breeders".

Hard to know what you are dealing with. You can try give Tylosin to see if that helps instead of a 4in1 formula.

As always, even if birds get better or show no symptoms, it doesn't mean they aren't carriers, so it's best to practice biosecurity even if they are housed 15miles up the road. Wash hands, change clothes and shoes before tending to existing flocks.

It would be good to have testing to find out what the newbies have.
