Bumblefoot?

I'm done, i give up, im pretty sure all 9 ducks have bumble (unless its callus, but the lumps have small scabs, i dont think callus has scabs?), obviously the universe is trying to tell me something or im cursed because I'm pretty sure nobody gets this unlucky. I'm just going to treat who i can and im giving away some of them, i can't do this anymore, the past couple weeks has been pure stress with the ducks and chickens I've already been dealing with

I am sorry to hear this, what kind of terrain are they walking on? Small bumbles a long with larger ones can be treated with Epsom salt soaks and clear iodine which can take a bit of time to treat but if you can figure out what is causing them to get bumble in the first place you maybe able to get it under control.

I am so sorry you are going through this... have you thought about doing like deep litter in the run? Doing layers over the hard packed dirt and rock should help... also, since it's fall, lots of people set out their bagged fallen leaves... dumping a bunch of those in until you have a thick layer should help the feet for all your birds... just a thought...

I'm going to dig out all the rocks in the run then get a couple bags of sand and get all the leaves i can tomorrow, i might get some pine shavings too. I wish i would of known about bumble before getting these birds, our ground is the worst ground to have ducks and chickens on

Fortunately, 6 of the birds don't have it bad, the scabs are small and should be easy to treat. But the other 5 have it bad and will take me hours to get everything out :(

Are you soaking and using the colorless iodine? if you are you just keep using both till the scabs come off with a little scraping with your fingernail once the scab is off you should be able to take a pair of sterile tweezers and pull the plug out. Don't make it harder on yourself than need be. :hugs

We live in the mountains and rocky is our ground so far none of my geese and ducks have had bumble just a few of my chickens and I used the technique I just told you about and it worked. Putting down sand and shavings should help.

I know you have been treating them for a long time and it’s very time consuming. Would you be able to get some antibiotics at TSC to get it under control since there are several birds with it? Then once you have more time to work on the ground issue it won’t be so overwhelming? Just a thought, not sure if it’s doable. :hugs

Hang in there @PearlTheDuck i totally understand your frustration, but don't give up just yet. You've put a lot of time and effort into this, I'd hate to see you lose your joy over this. Eyes forward and chin up, you got this!!!

Thank y'all ❤
Yes I'm soaking them for 15-30 minutes every morning and apply the iodine until the scabs are ready. What type of antibiotics and how much would it help them?
