Is this bumblefoot? I noticed one of my ducks limping the other day, checked today and noticed this lump. Does anyone know how to treat something like this at home? I am going to call the vet, I just want to ask others who may have experienced this first and get their opinion or help.

Not sure, but here is a good place to read up on subject. I just posted this info to another thread. The host of this website is also a BYC member. It is for chickens, but ducks may be affected similar.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:

Thank you! This was very helpful. I noticed that I cant see any black scab on her foot, does this mean its not bumblefoot? Or are there any cases with no scabs? Maybe I just haven't found the scab yet...

She hasn't been limping or acting wierd at all but I e started soaking it and spraying antibacterial stuff on it...do you think it needs surgery ?

I’d give it through the weekend then try the scab with your finger nail you want to be able to gently pull off the scab without pulling good skin then using sterile teeezers pull the plug out duck pus is thick so you’ll have to pick it out then keep her on clean bedding until the hole closes and keep up the soaks and spray

Ok thanks everyone ! Yes I am using epsom salt. I took one small one out before and we won't be home Saturday at all so I was hoping I wouldn't have to do it today since I want to be here to treat it after I take it out. I usually don't hold her and realized how soft she is with such beautiful blue eyes! Should I he feeding anything different or giving her anything different?
