Cat Owners: What's your favorite Kitty Litter?

As of yesterday (We very badly put off the litterbox overhaul, awful, I know, but its FINALLY done!) we have decided to try the chicken feed suggestion, coupled with baking soda. We just happened to have over half of a 25 Kilo bag of old feed lying around and figured why not try it since its already there! I coated the bottom of the boxes with baking soda, and I sprinkled baking soda on the floor underneath where the boxes sit, and the surrounding area. Its been used once with no odor thus far. I shall see how I like it in the weeks to come!
Thanks again so much for your wonderful suggestions everyone!

I have so many good options to try!

Pellets. I wanted to try crumbles but it was leftover pellets that we have on hand. When I scooped it out, I was surprised to find that it does clump together a little bit for pee, and it seems to stick to the poop too. No odor while I was sifting through it, then I just dumped it in the toilet and flushed it down. So far so good!

I prefer the pellets, less mess outside of the litter box, doesnt stick to the their paws. I've ben using it long before I ever had chickens.

We buy a giant bag of horse pellets <for the stalls> that we use in our litter boxes. Its only like $7.00 for a huge 40 lb bag...its like stuff in the Feline Pine. Works great...not much of a smell at all and we can easily pick the "tootsie rolls" out and flush them

Nice thing is as well is that it is easy to vacuum up <the sawdust it breaks down to> and won't scratch the hardwood floors.

A big bag keeps us with 5 cats and 4 litter boxes for almost a month! Much cheaper than the pet stores! 1 bag of Feline Pine 40# bag was like $25, compared to $7? No issues lol I'll take the horsepellets!

Also makes it much easier to send hubby to get chickie chow and cat litter at same place...MUCH less arguing!

I use the good old sand trick - - but I do have to clean it out pretty often. Is it a covered or open tray? How many cats do you have?

I was using Tidy Cat Multicat, but recently switched to Publix grocery store brand to save a few bucks. I love it so much better. It is finer than the Tidy Cat and clumps up a lot nicer. It also doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan like the Tidy Cat did.
