I got one as a packing peanut from a Sandhill Preservation Center order.

@Beer can do you still have this hen? Have you hatched any chicks from her? What color eggs does she lay?

Are these a rare breed? I can't find much about them.

Sandhill unfortunately no longer has these birds. Supposedly a mink wiped the flock out and they were the only "public" breeder in the US.

I've wreak Easter eggers and I think ameracanas sometimes carry the jump less gene.

Araucanas do. EEs are mutts so they're possible, but Ameraucanas should not.

Another rumpless breed. I had know idea there was more of them. I don't own any yet, but if I see them this Spring I might be tempted...

I've got three Barnevelders (I think) that look like that. They were young (not chicks) when I put them in the coop, so I just assumed that the other hens pulled out their tail feathers. I guess I will have to take a closer look. They've turned out to be good layers, though.
