Yes those hens are great, but the roos still have huge furnishings- not good in the cold. Brahmas are definitely one I had thought of starting with, and I am way overdue to renew my whole flock this year

Hello all! I’m pretty new to chickens and it’s probably overzealous but I’m going to try breeding Araucanas if I can get proper breeding stock. Got my first pullet the day after Christmas and have someone incubating 10 Araucana eggs for me, so we will have to wait and see how many hatch and what they turn out to look like! Love seeing all these other projects. If my Araucana ambitions fail, I’ll be doing Olive Eggers instead.

Thanks for joining, hope all your work pays off. Araucanas, are a hard breed to find which makes breeding programs a pain.

I have Dominate white silkies that are split to lavender, have black, smokey grey, & red leakage. I want to breed those colors into my whites, does that sound like a fun idea?

Those are my favorite types of eggs! My RIR Leghorns and easter eggers do that!

Chanteclers, & EEs have GameFowl blood in their backgrounds which gives them that sporty appearance.

Also easter eggers a lot of them have very minimal comb and wattles.

It's freakish sometimes, seeing the size of the colossal eggs compared to a regular egg. I'm glad she hasn't prolapse due to those huge eggs.
