I hatched a few eggs from my blue frizzle bantam cochin over one of my chocolate orpingtons. Was hoping to get a chocolate chick from them, but didn't. All either blue or black.

I would say a male would have much more comb by now, so I'm guessing pullet! Color, um, blue or splash? Are individual feathers darker than others, or is a single feather multiple colors?

Use blk with orphingtons. That was what i used in my 1st generation. Im on my 8th generation now with this boy and about a dozen others babies. Only a couple was born blk or blk mottled. The rest are dark chocolate or this milky chocolate in color.

That's actually Mauve very pretty birds nonetheless
