Why do you say male for sure?

Ive never seen a female with saddle feathers like that especially at just 7 weeks old. Also those are some large legs for a chicken that young. When Im not for sure I always compare leg sizes with hatch mates, it seems to help a lot.

The patchy dark red colouration on the wings that you can so clearly see on that first photo shouts cockerel to me. Pullets have even colouration.
He is not a Rhode Island Red so there is no point in comparing him to one.
Looks like an Easter Egger to me with that facial fluff.

I would have to agree cockerel. The comb growth already, the leg thickness and the patchy red colouring indicate male. I would wait another couple of weeks to be certain before you make any decisions about keeping him or not.
