Confusing EE/Did I end up with all boys!?

Still haven’t gotten updated pics yet but I will try soon. I hear the roosters trying to crow downstairs. :lau

also I checked the wattles a few days ago and both the black ones have them as does the Lav

so I’m thinking they’re all boys.

the EE and the Buff don’t appear to have them, or buff has very tiny ones, the Wellie of course does not. So hopefully 3 girls?? :fl

and 6 boys.

News you may not want to hear: any chicken with a pea comb tends to have smaller wattles. So no wattles in the Easter Egger may not tell anything useful about his/her gender. (Female would have no visible wattles, but male could likewise have no visible wattles at this age.)

Nah, I appreciate you telling me. I actually was wondering about that but wasn’t sure if it was the case with EEs or not. The beard and muffs may also be hiding them if they were there??? I hope it’s a girl though but :fl

I agree. My adult EE rooster has basically no wattles.

Yes, beard and muffs could also be hiding wattles. (And genetically, they also make wattles smaller.) I had forgotten about them because I was so busy thinking about the comb

I know these still are terrible pictures but they still need to be kicked outside. :oops:

hopefully doing that soon and will clean it tomorrow in the meantime but anyway, I just snapped these tonight when I checked them. Lav and EE are looking more and more like cockerels every day.... :hit
