Wanted to start a thread to document the progression of my autosexing ameraucanas, still in the easter egger stages. The big guy will be 2 in spring, hes massive. I hope to keep them on the large side so all the day old boys can be sold to some1 who'll eat em.

He has 6 ladies, all crele splits hatched in summer 2020. I gotta work on removing the yellow skin in the future, but focusing on gettin back to crele hens and double barred crele males in spring. Which will be 25% of the hatch.

I also kept a pair of crele oegb x black ameraucana bantams. Going to use them with some silver ameraucana bantams in spring and go from there.

I'll have egg pics in spring once the ladies start up 👍

I saw a pic of your crele rooster in another thread, very interested to see how your project will turn out. Crele is one of my top 5 favorite colors in roosters, and I love Ameraucanas <3

Have your hens started laying?

:love

Are you going to breed for blue eggs or green ones? Or both? 8D
As long as they are blue or green Im satisfied, Ima focus on size and crele coloring these first few years, and removing the yellow skin gene. After that Ill select for my favorite egg colors 🤟 since its a project Im not too concerned with ameraucana sop as long as they are meaty and lay well! I'll keep yall posted 🙂

I wish you the best of luck in your project, I can't wait to see how they turn out! ^^

Took a few snaps of the test pen, seeing which ones carry recessive white. Got some good egg color too from this pen, pink one is a bantam dominique.
