Here is the link to the popcorn stitch flower. It is super easy. The pattern seemed kind of daunting at first but it's easy to follow once you get started.

I knit some. The people I learned it from said the best is to start with number 8 wooden needles. My first project was a scarf. At the time, I purchased a book that taught children to knit. Lots of pictures and verses: "A First Book of Knitting for Children", by Bonnie Gosse and Jill Allerton. A great help for people who are not handy like me Hope it helps.
