Day 21 and I think I have twins

With chicks you candle and look for their little beaks to appear in the air cell. I imagine it's the same for ducks. Chicks may have their beaks in the air cell and then pull them back into the egg chamber in order to work on their external pip but you will definitely see their beaks in the air cell.
 
How do you look for internal pip. I'm curious because I have an egg that's almost 2 days late

You can only see an internal pip by candling. The air cell should be drawn down and you'll see a little triangle or dark shadows in the air cell when you move the light around.
 
Watching along at WV's request :) How's the little guy now? Foot over head can make it so that they can't hatch, so an assist may end up being necessary. Is there any chance you can post a picture of what you're seeing?

You definitely did the right thing to make a safety hole since it had been 45 hours since internal pip.
