With Avian Influenza being at the front of the mind lately, just wanted some advice about this situation and if there's anything we can do to manage exposure.
My wife had the chickens free ranging today and while my son was out playing in the yard found what looks like a brewers blackbird that had died with no visible trauma.
Chickens were immediately put back in the run so they don't get exposed to anything on or near the bird, and the bird has been disposed of. Is there anything else we should be doing to protect our chickens?
