To the left in that photo are Production Red Eggs the father is a Black Copper Maran. Males (or one male) from that batch will be bred back to Production Red Hens in an attempt to get a Red Rooster that has a darker egg gene. Then use a Rooster from that next generation to make Red Sex Links with a darker egg. To the Right are Cuckoo Maran eggs, they are darker than they look in the picture because the lamp I use for pictures is shining directly on them. The father of those eggs is a Maran Black Sex Link (half BCM half Cuckoo maran) so the chicks will be 1/4 BCM 3/4 Cuckoo Marans. I am trying to darken the egg color of my Cuckoo Marans for when I make Black Sex Links. Bottom Right you can see Red Ranger eggs with a Silver Grey Dorking father. Its my current Meat Hybrid project where I already had one hatch in November (and is doing great) Also in the Incubator but not pictured are eggs from my Red Sex Link matings, Not sure if they are Delaware or Columbian Wyndotte eggs or a few of each. Only one hen in that flock is likely laying I believe (just started laying) The father is a Production Red. (sorry if I made a lot of mistakes, I went to sleep right at sundown and just woke up so I am groggy)
Ok, for me I'm working on trying to get bigger eggs from my naked necks now.
