so sweet....can you already tell about being a rooster?...if so I am posting pictures of these welsummers I got tuesday....hatched sunday...

Like Janet said, we are just hoping that one is my rooster. If not, it will be a really big girl, we think. If it's a girl, her name is Georgie, after her dad, George. If my rooster, I'll have to think of a name for him.

I hope he's the boy you both expect! Go green BOY! Hi baby barred rock, call your siblings out, Ponder needs more friends. Go massive orpish egg!

Watch Cyn, we both want Del cockerals - they'll all be giant pullets...

Best of luck, I'm off to look at a litter of pups.

This time, we used the Hovabator because of my incapacity at the moment. The Fridge-a-Bator works better, but the turner will not fit in it; also, it's heavy and in the bsmt. I wasn't going to ask my poor, overworked hubby to bring it up and hand turn the eggs. The cooler bator wouldnt hold all 42 eggs I started with, so the Hova seemed the best thing at the time. It took lots of hand holding due to the house being so cool this time of year and the air being so dry. One of these days, we'll install a heat element in the Fridge so we dont have to worry about the light bulb going out. I love that thing-keeps perfect values with almost no tweaking.
