Double Egg

So our chickens have only been laying eggs since May 23rd and only 4 of our hens are laying so far but today we got a double egg?

I went to crack and cook a very large egg that my wife was sure was our first double yolk. I was very surprised to find another whole egg shell in the egg!

Is this normal for chickens to do or a health concern at all?

I'm not sure but when they start start laying I think things like this aren't to rare

Yep his name Is rodeo and every animal on the farm hates him accept for lexi the younger blue heeler. He's missing a toe because a horse kicked it off

Since they haven't even been laying a month I wouldn't be worried. New layers have all kinds of glitches and weird eggs until their bodies become regulated.

Odd, cool, a conversation piece to remember, ...

But not a problem unless it becomes a regular event.

My husband is fiending for one/some. His "friend" was supposed to be bringing him a pair so he may also breed them. The one his friend has is sure uggggly. Ha ha ha.

Oh no they can be so handsome/pretty.

I've had dogs my whole life and this breed is special!
